Year 3 have been looking at the art of Roy Lichtenstein. We looked at primary and secondary colours and how Lichtenstein, renowned for his works based on comic strips and advertising imagery, coloured with his signature hand-painted Benday dots, uses colour and pattern in his POP art
The boys then created their own POP art by striking a pose, having their photo taken and decorating the back ground with benday dots. Each boy then added a speech bubble to their work in the comic book style used by the artist.
The boys produced super final pieces and enjoyed all the different processes involved in creating their piece.
Well done, boys. It’s great to teach boys that are so enthusiastic about learning and creating superb art work.
