Little Elms Curriculum

Elmhurst School for Boys

In Little Elms our aim is to help each boy to become an independent learner. Our small class size allows us to get to know each child as an individual, recognising and developing their strengths and supporting them in areas where they may need it. This environment ensures each boy can thrive and is fully prepared for their journey into Reception at Elmhurst.

We follow an exciting and engaging curriculum which allows the boys to develop at their own pace, with plenty of opportunity for discovery through play, both in and outside of the classroom.

Daily Phonics and Maths sessions help to develop reading and writing skills and introduce the boys to number work. Little Elms also enjoy spending time in our Expressive Arts area.

Learning is regularly taken out of doors and Little Elms benefit from weekly Forest School sessions in local woodland. Find out more about the school's Forest School programme, here

Daily Story Time helps to instil a love of reading from an early age, whilst Music Time allows Little Elms to engage in a range of singing games and activities, developing their rhythm and musicality.
