Please read some feedback from parents:

Despite the rainy weather I really enjoyed my day at Forest School. I was particularly impressed by the organisation of the activities as well as the range of things we did.
It was great to see the boys all decked out in their all-weather gear as the rain was a great test of it! I know Fionn particularly enjoyed making the ‘Wild Thing’ gargoyles from mud. Playing hide and seek in the woods was also great fun and I particularly enjoyed looking for bugs on the forest floor. All the activities were really engaging and great fun. It’s really nice to see the boys out in the fresh air making the most of local woods.

Forest school is a really special and unique experience. I am  hugely impressed with the values it’s ethos tries to instil in the participants, in a fun, engaging way; teamwork, trust, respect for one another and for the space and nature. These are all invaluable skills which the boys are taught first hand. Mrs Mawanda, Mrs Lloyd and the other teachers are fantastically motivated and clearly passionate and this really came across in their interactions. How wonderful to encourage free minds, expression and exploration, whilst combining it all with play, fun, and getting messy. Incredibly proud to be a part of a school which promotes forest education.

It was great to see the boys in action. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in all activities, especially identifying insects and helping the boys to roast their marshmallows over the open fire. Thank you Mrs Mawanda for providing parents the opportunity to experience forest school and what a wonderful experience it was!

It was a pleasure connecting not only with nature but sharing this experience with my son. We may visit the forest on occasion, but we would not normally get so involved. The creativity of the other boys was also very inspiring! In short, I’m looking forward to the next invite.

It was nice to see the children playing in the woods, climbing trees, building dens, making mud pies and the minibeast hunt. The children appeared very confident and independent. Also they were learning to be safe and look after each other. Forest School is a good hands on experience for the kids. Thank you Mrs Mawanda and the other staff members for devoting your time to Forest School.

Having heard a lot about Forest School, it was exciting for grandparents to be invited to spend the day with the boys. They clearly enjoyed being outside even in the rain! Thank goodness for wellies and rainsuits! Seeing their excitement of finding bugs and slugs and making mud faces was a joy! The campfire and the marshmallows was fun. We look forward to visiting in the sunshine next time!!

Forest School is amazing and so important for the boys. It’s great to see them all enjoying nature in all weathers! Sam gets so much from his afternoon with Mrs Mawanda and her team. He comes home full of stories about dragons and tells me the games they play. It was fun to see the boys make mud faces on the tree trunks. They all clearly like getting muddy! Toasting marshmallows on a campfire was a great ending to a fun and educational afternoon.

It was lovely to escape to somewhere tranquil where the boys were able to experience nature. The boys all listened to the story ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ and we all acted out the parts of the wild things- growling and gnashing out teeth, rolling our eyes before we decorated our crowns. Watchign the boys collecting firewood to light the fire so they could toast marshmallows was lovely. Everyone enjoyed them! All the boys enjoyed climbing the fallen tree. It was a great adventure for them. Thank you for inviting us!
