Porridge

Elmhurst School for Boys

20th May 2013

When I was at prep school (a boarding school), we had porridge for breakfast every day. I’m not sure I’ve eaten any since! So imagine my joy to see the Year 3&4 production ‘Porridge – the musical’ last  Thursday night. It’s the funniest boys’ production I think I’ve ever seen.

The costumes, the singing, the dancing were all amazing. But what stood out most of all was how the boys loved to make the audience laugh. They seem to grow in confidence and comic timing as the performance went on, to the extent that at times it felt like we were watching an audition for a professional show.

Teachers always say that they can see such-and-such a pupil on the stage when they’re grown up. On the basis of last night, I could see two or three with amazing potential.

Well done to everyone for a wonderful, entertaining evening.
