Year 3 plan their projects on India

Elmhurst School for Boys

30th April 2015

Year 3 have made an enthusiastic start to their work on India, this term. They will be learning about life in the Southern Indian village of Chembakolli, with the aim of comparing the lives of children in India with those in different locations in the UK.

The boys will then be completing their own projects. Year 3 have already put forward some excellent ideas for questions that they will aim to answer in their projects:

Aayan - “I would like to know more about the old stories.”

Freddie - “I would like to know how they say hello in a different language.”

John - “I am going to contact my older cousin and ask him how he celebrates his birthday. I want to know where he has travelled to in India.”

Jayden - “I want to find out about street vendors and markets, the Tiffin Service and the Holy River Ganges.”

If the boys complete their work in an electronic format such as Powerpoint, it may be e-mailed into the School Office. If any parents would like to come and in and talk with the boys about life in India, please let us know via the School Office or your son’s diary.

This week in Geography and Current Affairs, Year 3 have also been learning about the rescue efforts in Nepal, following the recent earthquake. The boys might like to follow this up by visiting the BBC Newsround website.
