Year 4 and 5’s Classical Roadshow Experience

Elmhurst School for Boys

13th June 2014

On Tuesday 10th June, Years 4 and 5 took the short trip to Fairfield Halls to hear England's oldest chamber orchestra, London Mozart Players, perform live as part of The Classical Roadshow.

Much of this term's curriculum has focused on Australasia and this theme was highlighted brilliantly in the performance. The boys were able to hear many of the orchestral instruments as performed by some of the best music professionals in Europe. Then, together with nearly a thousand other school children, they sang live with the London Mozart Players, under the direction of their conductor Hilary Davan Wetton.

Following the visit of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra last year, the boys have now experienced another world class orchestra performing live and plans are already underway for us to return to the Classical Roadshow in March 2015.
