Year 6 Science - Light

Elmhurst School for Boys

14th December 2015 | Key Stage 2

Year 6 have been studying the topic ‘Light up your world’, finding out about how and why we see things. For a homework task the boys researched pinhole viewers and drew a 2d diagram to show how light travels through the pinhole to produce an inverted image. As an extension task some boys made their own, Levi and his Dad improvised their design to make the image clearer.

Pinhole viewers consolidate the boys understanding of how light travels in straight lines and demonstrate the images produced by a pinhole are inverted.
