Elmhurst School’s Olympic Adventure

Elmhurst School for Boys

17th September 2012 | Headmaster's Blog

Six boys from Elmhurst School were given the opportunity of a lifetime when they were invited to witness the breathtaking spectacle of the Olympic Parade, from especially reserved seats on The Mall.

Elmhurst School was just one of ten primary schools nationwide, recognised by the Get Set Network for its outstanding work in promoting the Olympic and Paralympic Games throughout the year.

The boys rubbed shoulders with the Prime Minister and Princess Anne as they were treated to a grandstand view of the Olympic and Paralympic stars of 2012. With flags waving and chants of ‘Team GB’ reverberating around the parade, the boys watched in awe as the 21 floats and 700 athletes came past, carrying many of their heroes including Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis, Sir Chris Hoy and Tom Daley. It was certainly an experience that the boys will remember.
