Elmhurst School for Boys

22nd April 2016 | Early Years

The Summer Term is always a lovely one. The boys get outside more often and the fine weather makes everyone happy. We have three new boys joining us this term and they have settled in beautifully to our already established routines. Well done to them and our existing boys for making them feel so welcome.

This half of the term our topic is ‘Heroes.’ For the first two weeks we are exploring our imaginative side and focusing on Superheroes. Our role play area is a Superhero rescue centre, equipped with masks, capes, puppets and of course the Batphone, for all those emergency calls of help. The boys have been busy writing a book about what their super powers would be and to end the topic we are having a dressing up day, with lots of special superhero activities.

The boys have really enjoyed exploring the different challenges of being a Superhero. Next we will be looking at Firemen and Policemen. I feel I will spend a lot of time being rescued or thrown in jail.
