Little Elms Blog: settling in and learning ‘All about me’

Elmhurst School for Boys

16th September 2016 | Early Years

Week two into the term and the boys are all settled in and playing really nicely together. We are focusing on our topic ‘All about me’. This week we have been talking about Routines, both at school and at home. It is so lovely to hear the boys talking about what they do at home with such confidence. It is also a lovely way to continue to build up those positive relationships that are so important to establish early with the teacher, parent and child.

The boys have also painted self-portraits of themselves. Definitely we have some budding artists amongst this year’s class. We started our phonic session this week with the sound ‘mmm’ that is then followed by a, s, d, t and i for this half of the term.

Next week are focusing on Emotions, cutting, Name kit and writing our name and yes believe it or not we are making Christmas cards. These will be professionally printed and available in early December.
