At Elmhurst, we want our boys to explore their interest and talent in as many different sports as possible. As Head of Sport therefore, it is my aim to provide each child with many sporting opportunities, from informal games at playtimes to time-tabled PE/Games lessons. We offer a variety of after school sports clubs, competitive house tournaments and inter-school fixtures.
A further ambition has been to enable all of our boys to represent either their 'House' or Elmhurst at some stage during their time with us, in at least one of the many sports on offer, regardless of their overall, natural sporting ability.
However, we also believe it is equally important to identify and nurture particularly talented sportsmen; offer them specialised coaching/training, in order for them to develop their skills and maximise their potential in any chosen sport. As a result, Elmhurst boys are regularly and successfully representing our region, London South, in ISA National meetings and tournaments, in many different sports.
At Elmhurst, thanks to a skilled and enthusiastic PE department, we offer main stream team sports like, football, rugby, cricket, hockey and basketball, but also cater for individual sports like gymnastics, athletics, tennis, badminton, table tennis and swimming.
