Key Stage 1

Elmhurst School for Boys
Physical Computing and STEM Club

In collaboration with microGeeks, a local group of software engineers aiming to encourage children into programming, this club provides boys with the opportunity to gain new skills in the area of Physical Computing - using computer programming to interact with real-world objects or devices.

Whilst engaging in basic coding, the boys will be developing essential 21st Century skills as they collaborate with their peers and communicate with one another, talking through processes and ideas, as well as enhancing their critical thinking skills and creativity, through problem-solving challenges.

At Physical Computing and STEM Club, pupils will have access to a variety of programming software, such as Scratch programming, BBC micro:bit Block Editor, JavaScript and Lego WeDo programming.
