11th December 2015
Last week at Elmhurst (7/12/2015 - 13/12/2015), boys joined the world to celebrate Computer Science Education Week. Once children see what they create right before their eyes, they’re empowered to keep learning. Children are constantly using technology today, but how many are learning to build it? Every 21st century pupil should have the opportunity to learn computer science. The basics help nurture creativity and problem-solving skills, and prepare children for any future career.
At Elmhurst, boys from Year 2 to Year 6 participated and accepted the challenges from Hour of Code to solve the puzzles using their programming skills. A few boys successfully completed all the challenges to earn their certificates.
“By participating in Hour of Code I improved my coding skills and it motivated me towards learning computer programming.” Maliq 6C
