WOW ! what a workshop! Children at Elmhurst enjoyed participating in Wool & Ribbon Tree Bombing and Figure to Abstraction Art Workshops.
Wool & Ribbon Tree Bombing Art Workshop: Yarn bombing, guerrilla knitting, kniffiti, urban knitting or graffiti knitting is a type of graffiti that employs colourful displays of wool or ribbon rather than paint or chalk. The boys made their own individual tree installation using a range of ribbons and wool, they then planted the trees in the new Elmhurst allotment. We then got a wool and ribbon bomb some trees in the garden. The trees are a bright and colourful addition to the garden. They look STUNNING.
Figure to Abstraction: We traced our figures so they were overlapping, this process created beautiful and unusual shapes and marks. We then painted the abstract shapes, created by the overlapping lines, in the May sunshine. The final piece looks spectacular.
