Rumel was an Elmhurst pupil for seven years. He left the school in 1994 and is now a Company Director.
Read our Q&A with Rumel:
Which years did you attend Elmhurst?
1987 - 1994
Which Secondary School did you attend after Elmhurst?
Wilson's Grammar School
What have you done since leaving school and what achievements are you most proud of?
I read Theoretical Physics at UCL, trained as a Secondary Science teacher and have been involved in starting and running several successful businesses.
What are you doing now?
My main activity is educational consultancy, helping families navigate the labyrinthine UK independent schools system. I also tutor Mathematics and Physics to GCSE, A-level and Undergraduate students. Very little can compare to the joy of helping others achieve their goals.
In what ways did Elmhurst prepare you for life?
Elmhurst helped cultivate within me the virtues of discipline, organisation and competition but also looking out for one's fellow man.
What is your fondest memory of your time at Elmhurst?
It's hard to think of one particular thing that stands out, so I'll just go for the warm-heartedness of the teaching staff.
How would you sum up your experience at Elmhurst in one word?
Family
