Well done Elmhurst! We raised £330 from the 'Sunshine of Gold' that we made out of £1s and £2s to recognise the amazing efforts, bravery and courage of the firefighters at Croydon Fire Station. 
Today some Year 6 boys represented the school and we went to pay a surprise visit to Croydon Fire Station to present the money (in coins!!) . We were very lucky as all the crews were out on the forecourt doing morning tests on their units/ engines. The boys talked to the firefighters about Grenfell.. they went to the scene at 4am and only returned at 7pm that evening. They have been working on the site ever since the terrible disaster and today is their last day. We suggested they spent the money on a treat for themselves! What heroes!
