At Elmhurst, the boys from Year 2 to Year 6 participated in Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge in November.
The UK BEBRAS Computational Thinking Challenge, supported by the University of Oxford and Raspberry Foundation UK, is designed to get pupils excited about computing and computational thinking. It is a problem-solving contest with questions inspired by topics in computer science. In the first round, pupils have to try and solve as many problems as possible in the allotted time.
There are three different age categories for schools. The highest-scoring pupils from the oldest age group (Junior) were then invited to the next level TCS Oxford Computing Challenge taking place in the week beginning the 2nd March. This Year, four boys from Elmhurst were successful in progressing through to the next level! They have been invited for the next TCS OCC Challenge in March. Well done to Rishi, Narein, Leo and Nathan - Good luck to you all!
Well done Aaron, Michael and Rishi for scoring Best in School certificates for their age groups.
This Year Elmhurst Boys performed extremely well in this challenge with 10 Distinctions from Kits (6 - 8 Years old), 13 Distinctions from Castors (8 – 10 Years old) and 6 Distinctions from Juniors (10 – 12 Years old) groups.
Well done to all the boys, who participated in the challenge and enjoyed problem-solving.
