Over the past half-term, the Year 6 pupils have been looking at journalistic and persuasive writing, linked to the themes of WW2 and their enterprise project: Stride. The pupils have studied bias in the news and how to identify fact vs. opinion and the subtle ways newspaper both past and present try to influence the reader. This then led into looking at advertising and reviews used as advertising. The boys considered layout and design as influencing the viewer on a very subtle level.
