The Elmhurst Holiday Club was very busy over the Christmas holidays with many exciting trips, sports and different activities.
On Monday we visited the Battersea Park Children's Zoo. The boys were introduced to many different and wonderful animals such as meerkats, monkeys, emus, wallabies, and many more. They were also lucky enough to handle a beautiful white rabbit and pat a pony.
Later in the week the children had a very exciting visit to the cinema to watch Frozen and a thrilling trip on the train into central London, to go ice-skating at the London Eye. The most improved skater award went to Ayomide who recovered well from many tumbles. Mrs Carew also improved her ice-skating technique dramatically and was literally screaming around the ice rink.
It wouldn't be Holiday Club without a good party!
The Holiday Club will be running again in the spring half term and places are still available. Please email holidayclub@elmhurstschool.net for more details.
Mr & Mrs Clarke
Theo (6P) tells us about his time at the Holiday Club:
“For one week over the Christmas Holidays Mr and Mrs Clarke ran a holiday club. On one of the days we made gingerbread houses. To start with we played indoors doing table tennis, making Lego sculptures and playing games on the Wii. We then played football and hockey outside whilst Mr Clarke cut up the gingerbread for our gingerbread houses. We played for quite a long time and after about forty minutes we came in all exhausted. We were ready to make our gingerbread houses. It was hard so we were shown the way to do it. However, it was still tricky and some of the younger boys were helped. After about an hour they were all decorated and complete! So how did they taste? Scrumptious!”
