14th December 2017 | Key Stage 1
All pupils at Elmhurst are members of a house team - Anderson is red, Scott is blue, Peachell is green and Squire is yellow. Each boy can earn house points for his team and these are
collated throughout the school each week.
Keshav S, House Captain of Squire, tells us about house meetings at Elmhurst:
In our house meetings we discuss what has been going on in the last two weeks and how we are doing on house points. We also have a talk about how we've got the house points. Sometimes we share what fun activities we have been doing.
Each house meeting we have a different phrase or ‘words of wisdom’ from the house or Vice Captain. We sometimes do an activity to test our reaction time, by forming a circle in the playground and squeezing each others hands in the circle and we time ourselves.
Our words of wisdom this week were 'No man is an island'. This means that it is better to communicate and collaborate with other people rather than just by yourself. Working as a team you will achieve great things!
To conclude, house meetings are very fun.
