Little Elms Blog: Building work begins

Elmhurst School for Boys

9th June 2015

Building work begins on Thursday! I am meeting with the builders to plan the space that Little Elms will occupy. When it is finished, it will be a wonderfully enabling environment for the boys to enjoy playing and learning.

I have also been busy putting together a shopping list of supplies and resources for Little Elms. Exciting as it may be, it is so important to provide stimulating resources which are accessible and open-ended, so they can used and combined in a variety of ways.

Learning through play will really help the boys in our Nursery to “engage with other people and their environment.” (Early Years Foundation Stage).

As the Early Years Foundation Stage also states, “Playing and exploring, active learning and creating and thinking critically underpin learning and development across all areas and support the child to remain an effective and motivated learner.”

Full steam ahead!
