Maths Week 2019

During Elmhurst's Maths Week, pupils have been treated to a wide range of fun, interesting, challenging and engaging activities. These have included workshops, a Maths Quiz, taking part in the Elmhurst Maths Challenge against several visiting schools as competitors or markers, applying Maths skills in real life with a trip to Sainsburys, publishing the second edition of our Maths Word Problems, a trip to Pizza Express and the Maths Trail, all planned in order to further develop our pupils' love of Maths.

All of these experiences have provided opportunities for pupils to use and develop a number of skills including perseverance, teamwork, communication and participation skills.

The boys enjoyed seeing Maths “in a different light” and applying their skills without realising that they were. Maths Week has seen lots of happy, smiling faces, as we all learnt new skills and the importance of being challenged.
