In line with our focus on creating an inspiring learning environment for our pupils, Madame Hargreaves has introduced mindfulness into the classroom this year, with Years 5 and 6.
During the lessons, the boys develop an understanding that mindfulness is paying attention to our environment in the here and now, with kindness and curiosity. They have been focusing on breathing techniques and on how to let go of our thoughts as they arise, so that we can give our minds a rest from being constantly ‘busy’.
After only a few short meditation practices, the boys are already saying how relaxed and rested they feel! This should come in particularly handy for Year 6 when it comes to facing the pressure of the upcoming exams.
