14th October 2016 | Forest School
Year 4's Forest School sessions have been full of energy and creativity this half term. As part of our outdoor learning challenges we have looked at foodchains and the digestive system. This week, we finished off our session with a day in the woods focusing on Geography and mapwork. We laid trails using wood to make arrows and travelled long distances to find the marshmallow treasure!
We have also focused on Forest School skills, tying clove hitches and using tools to make mallets. Many boys achieved the 'five leaf challenge' - naming five leaves from native trees. We have also had time to initiate our own ideas, using our imagination, creativity and critical thinking skills to make rope bridges and mud faces and to whittle magic sticks.

This week, Reception enjoyed a special Forest School Day with their Mums and Dads. We all had a picnic in the woods and tried some exciting games and activities.
