PIZZA WORKSHOP! boys not books!

Elmhurst School for Boys

9th February 2017 | Key Stage 1

On Monday year 2 went to Bread Ahead – a bakery in the heart of Borough Market, London. The books took part in a one and a half hour, hands-on workshop in the bakery! The boys had the chance to make and knead their own pizza dough, shape their pizza base, top their pizza with fresh ingredients and bake it; all under the guidance of an experienced ‘Bread Ahead’ tutor. In addition, the boys learnt about the process of fermentation. After the workshop the boys got to eat their pizza for lunch. They were SO YUMMY! We also got to have a quick look around Borough Market – we smelt smelly cheesy and saw live lobsters in a fish a stall!
