The Lower School recently took part in a Ready Steady Cook Harvest Assembly, with two special contestants and two judges. Our Ready Steady Cook contestants were given a bag of ingredients and asked to make something tasty out of them. The boys spoke about how we have been given a whole planet full of different types of plants, including flowers and vegetables, and animals, which provide everything we need to live.
As human beings, we have been given the responsibility of looking after what we’ve been given and making the most of it, a bit like the contestants had to with their ingredients. How we use what we’ve been given is really important.
The assembly particularly celebrated the amazing array of food the Earth provides for us to eat. The assembly also helped the boys to think about the importance of using the Earth’s resources wisely.
