Reception measure up

Elmhurst School for Boys

6th February 2014

Reception have been learning how to measure all sorts of things.  We have been investigating taller, longer and shorter.  Last week we compared the length of different objects and placed them in order from tall to short, or long to short.

This week we went out in the garden.  We looked around to see what we can find that is taller, longer and shorter than a metre stick.  Then we came inside and measured different objects using cubes.  Some of us had very close estimates - Ishaan estimated the pencil would be 8 cubes tall and he was close, it was 9!
