Sport GB Taekwondo champion, Jibreel Malik recently visited Elmhurst School, to launch a sponsored Fitness Challenge.
Pupils aged from 4 to 11, enjoyed taking part in a number of exercise routines and were sponsored by their family and friends to complete as many exercises as they could.
There was also an opportunity to watch a demonstration of Jibreel’s skills.
Over £700 has been raised from the Fitness Challenge so far, which will be used to fund new playground equipment at the school.
Year 5 pupil, Mickel said, “Jibreel Malik came in to help us do some exercises and to help us keep fit. We did spotty dogs, star jumps and press ups. My favourite one was spotty dogs! The exercises were hard but we had lots of cheering and music.”
Pablo in Year 6 said, “I think everyone will agree with me that it was incredible.”
Charles South, Headmaster, said “We were delighted to welcome Jibreel to Elmhurst and would like to extend our thanks to him for joining our Fitness Challenge.”
“At Elmhurst, we are proud of our strong sporting tradition and activities such as this are great for developing our pupils’ interests in a wide range of sports and activities to keep them fit and active. All of our boys should be proud of their efforts in raising such a fantastic amount of money.”
