Reception boys have settled in brilliantly during their first term at Elmhurst. Being in the classroom alongside their peers has given them the opportunity to develop and progress across all areas of learning. From developing friendships with their peers through partner and group activities, to learning to read and write through phonics and literacy teaching sessions - our Reception boys are always learning! The boys are becoming independent when completing daily tasks and challenges, as well as developing their social skills and their ability to collaborate with others. They have the opportunity to investigate and explore when learning through play. The boys are encouraged to persevere, even when they encounter a difficulty and being in the classroom allows us to celebrate each of their achievements. Our Reception boys have the opportunity to develop their own ideas and their own strategies when completing a variety of tasks. Our classrooms and outdoor area provide environments in which all of our boys can learn and achieve their potential.
