22nd March 2019 | Early Years
The unforgettable Elmhurst staff pantomime took place on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th March. Directed by Madame Hargreaves, members of staff took to the stage to present a very special version of Cinderella. The usual mix of slapstick comedy, audience participation and local references which was much appreciated by the packed house.
Through ticket sales, sales of refreshments and thanks to the generosity of the audiences at the end of the performances, over £1000 was raised to support the upcoming staff trip to volunteer and support the Joshua Orphan and Community Care (JOCC) Organisation in Malawi. The money raised will go towards buying basic resources that the JOCC desperately needs, including pencils, sharpeners, rubbers, pens, paper, and basic Maths and English resources.
Headmaster, Mr Padfield, who played one of Cinderella's step sisters commented: "It was amazing to see what could be achieved with great staff collaboration and in such a short rehearsal period. I am delighted with the amount of money raised."
