5th April 2019 | Key Stage 2
Here at Elmhurst, we pride ourselves on equipping boys with the skills they need to excel in the 21st Century. This term, as part of our extended provision for pupils following the 11+ exam process, Year 6 have taken part in a new business and enterprise course, “Putting Young Minds to Work”, run by Stride Learning.
The boys have enjoyed a series of sessions with course leader Marie-Claire Lakin, developing their enterprise and employability skills and learning about money management.
Following an introduction to business and entrepreneurship, Year 6 were tasked with setting up and running a mini-business. Working in teams, the boys came up with product ideas, purchased raw materials with a Stride cash loan, pitched business plans and made and sold their products at an Enterprise Fair.
