Year 1 trip to Addington Hills

Elmhurst School for Boys

29th January 2016 | Key Stage 1

On Thursday 28th January Year 1 went to Addington Hills. The visit supports the work they have been doing in the classroom, learning about Croydon. They have learned about four different types of land use and how much variety there is in the borough.

The trip enabled the children first hand to see how far Croydon stretches, as well as experience the hills and valleys in a practical way. Some children spotted sights that they recognised, like the water tower and Sainsburys on the Purley Way; this was because of its proximity to the blue gas tower. It also enabled us to clear up any misconceptions like 'I can see the whole world'  and 'Look, there's the Eiffel Tower!'
