13th June 2014
On 2nd June, Year 2 enjoyed a visit to the woods to learn more about plants and animals in their local environment.
Shravan G in 2D wrote a short piece about the visit:
The entire class went on a trip to Littleheath Woods to investigate the natural habitats of plants and animals. My favourite part was when we did pond dipping. We found fantastic animals and creatures for example tadpoles, waterflies and snails. It was really fun because we had a look at them in magnifying transparent pots. I was the first to find a tadpole!
Moreover, I enjoyed using the magnifying glass to explore the surroundings and see where creatures live. I learnt that a minibeast often lives beneath a rock or log so it doesn't get trampled on!
