17th September 2015 | Forest School
For us as new teachers to Elmhurst, Forest School has been a wonderful way to get to know Year 4 in a natural learning environment.
Mr Kent and I have seen our pupils with a positive attitude that has built up their self-esteem through team work. The children have demonstrated a combination of responsibility and freedom out in the open and it has been lovely to look up at the trees and study the nature beneath our feet.
We have collected and identified leaves and enjoyed learning more about them in our science lessons. During independent time the boys have built dens and carried out problem solving tasks, utilising their surroundings and the equipment they have to hand.
We have also enjoyed building mud sculptures!
