Year 5 enjoy Brain Ache Club

Elmhurst School for Boys

24th February 2017 | Key Stage 2

In order to extend our boys' knowledge and stretch their brains to the limit, every Tuesday at lunch time we are run Brain Ache Club. The boys enjoy solving different puzzles and games which help them to  develop their maths, critical thinking skills, team skills, communication skills and logical reasoning, and raise their expectations of what they can achieve.

Read some of the boys' comments and view photos of recent activities.

"In Brain Ache Club, we have the chance to do lots of puzzles and games. Recently, we have been drawing 3D shapes, which I have enjoyed a lot, and we have made solids from straws and pipe-cleaners. We put them in a bowl of soap water. Guess what happened? There were lots of different shapes inside! 3D SHAPES!!!"
- Yipeng (5N)

"In Brain Ache Club we made 3D solids out of straws and pipe-cleaners. Next we predicted what shape would be inside once we dipped them in washing up liquid. The shapes were awesome!"
- Ethan C (5N)
