Year 5 create their own Optical Art

Here at Elmhurst, we place great value on encouraging individual creativity and expression of ideas and all our pupils enjoy regular Art lessons.

In a recent Art lesson, Year 5 enjoyed learning about "Op Art" or "Optical Art", a style of visual art which uses optical illusions. Year 5 had a go at creating their own 3D paper cone drawings, using a black coloured pencil in the white areas to create shading and shadows, and a white coloured pencil in the black areas, to create highlights.
