Year 5 design their own electric cars

In ART and DT, Year 5 have been working hard on an exciting project; making cars powered by an electrical circuit.

The boys had to consider design aspects such as weight, shape and balance.  Many boys tested their designs and made the appropriate modifications.

During this process, pupils learnt about electrical circuits and their components, gears and gear ratios, wheel size and velocity and how to make design modifications.

The boys also enjoyed a really fun lesson, racing their cars.
