5P Assembly on Oceania

Elmhurst School for Boys

24th June 2016 | Key Stage 2

5P were proud to present their assembly on Oceania to the Upper School and some of their parents. They had worked in pairs to prepare power point presentations on their chosen Oceania topic. Some of the topics included were: Animals of Oceania, Food of Oceania, Countries of Oceania, People of Oceania, Lifestyles and Culture, Fiji and the Solomon Islands.

In review of their performance some boys recognised that it would have been beneficial to have printed off their presentations so that they did not have to keep looking up at the big screen to inform them of whet to say next. The boys that had done this felt that having the words in front of them meant that they were able to engage the audience more readily. All of the boys in 5P felt that it was good experience in preparing them for the English Speaking Board exam, next year.

Congratulations 5P for delivering an informative and entertaining assembly. They finished with an excellent rendition of The Haka which you can enjoy here:
