6th May 2016 | Key Stage 2
Year 6 recently enjoyed applying their Maths skills on a trip to B&Q. Before the trip, they had to draw a plan of their dream house in pairs. They then had to plan out the flooring that they would install for the ground floor and top floor.
Read a little review by Lucas and Azeem about their trip to B&Q:
Plot: To apply maths in real life
Maths concepts:
Area and perimeter
Working with decimals to find the cost of items
Description: We drew a plan of our dream house in pairs before we went. We had to fill in the ground and top floor and as many as we wanted. We travelled up to B&Q by tram, in groups. When we arrived we all split out into groups to find items to make one room in our house. It was extremely exciting exploring the shop and finding out new things. After we finished we were given a treat in Ikea because of our exceptional behaviour. This has been an amazing project for every single one of us and we would love to do it again.
