Year 6 Boys investigate Speed, Distance and Time in Maths Lessons

Elmhurst School for Boys

20th January 2017 | Key Stage 2

At Elmhurst, Year 6 Boys are busy in investigating and learning about average speed.

"Last week we started a new topic which was “Speed”. I learnt to find the speed when I knew the distance and the time. During our lesson, we investigated different objects and we observed to calculated the speed to travel 100cm. I really enjoyed timing how long it took to roll 100cm."
- Ethan Santana 6C

"Last week we investigated the concept of speed and the relation between distance and time. We rolled different objects at the same distance (100 cm) and we timed how long it took to roll. We timed the different objects’ speed when it rolled 100cms. I really enjoyed this investigation!"
