Incredibly, we find ourselves at the end of another school year. The final morning sees excited boys looking forward to the summer and I suspect some teachers may be feeling the same way! There is inevitably an underlying air of sadness as we say goodbye to all our school leavers. However, there is also a feeling of pride. Pride in what the boys have achieved at Elmhurst, particularly over the last 12 months.
I have to mention my highlight of the year. On Monday night, despite unfavourable weather our Year 6 boys brought their parents to Littleheath Woods for a performance of “A Midsummer Night's Dream”. I can’t begin to fully express the pride I felt as I watched this production unveil itself - an outdoor location coupled with the words and actions of the boys alongside the vision and hard work of the staff, produced one of the best school productions that I have witnessed in my time at Elmhurst. My thanks to everyone involved, it was an unforgettable experience and a fitting finale to the school year.
Good luck to all our school leavers, I wish them every success in their new schools. My thanks to all our parents for their support through the year and finally to all of the staff at Elmhurst, thank you for your inspiration and hard work. Have a great summer!
