One of the best things about being a Headmaster is knowing that every day will be different.
This morning has been a great example; we have had one of the best assemblies of the term so far as the boys celebrate Roald Dahl Day, by dressing up as their favourite characters. We have had crocodiles, turtles, giraffes, Willie Wonkas, Golden Tickets and so much more.
Our EFA had arranged a coffee morning, to be part of the “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning", in aid of the MacMillan Cancer Charity. It was lovely to see that so many parents were able to attend and the number of cakes brought in by so many different parents was remarkable! The boys are looking forward to eating all of them later in the day.
We have also a group of Old Elmhurstians visiting today from Trinity School as part of their Duke of Edinburgh programme. It has been really nice to catch up and hear their news about their families and their progress at school.
As if that wasn’t enough I have also had the pleasure of showing Mrs S Bappoo, who is the Minister of Social Security in the Republic of Mauritus, around the school this morning. Mrs Bappoo is Girish Baberjee’s (6H) grandmother.
Thank you to all the boys and staff that had such great costumes and to all the parents who donated cakes and who took the time to come to the coffee morning, it was great to have the opportunity to catch up with you all.
That has only seen me through half the day, who knows what the afternoon holds in store?
