Some news to brighten all our days!

Elmhurst School for Boys

2nd October 2013 | Headmaster's Blog

Many of you will be aware that we have a little boy in Year 3 who has suffered from the effects of Sickle Cell Anemia.

Ethan and his family have been an example to all of us as they have coped with his condition.

I was delighted to speak to Ethan's mother to find out that following an innovative procedure Ethan has now been declared free of Sickle Cell!  This is wonderful and I am sure you will all join me in celebrating such fantastic news.

Three members of the Elmhurst staff, Mr Bessell, Miss Wilks and Miss Boniferro, are running to raise money for Evelina Children’s Hospital who have cared for Ethan most of his life:

"Natalie, Andy and I are running to raise money for Evelina Children's Hospital because they have looked after Ethan and his family so well. Ethan is a very special boy who suffered the effects of Sickle Cell Anaemia for many years. He has had countless hospital appointments throughout his life in order to monitor and maintain his health. In spite of all of this, Ethan and his family have shown remarkable strength and bravery and would like to commend the excellent care received at Evelina, who has been there for this family throughout Ethan's illness and have supported them through everything.

Please help us to raise £500 for this incredible hospital! Sponsor us on our team page 'Elmhurst for Evelina 2013'. Thank you very much!
