Admissions Process

Elmhurst School is proud to offer a coeducational environment, welcoming both girls and boys to benefit from our inclusive and dynamic educational experience. With small class sizes and a broad and engaging curriculum, demand for places is high so if you are interested in joining our wonderful community, please note the steps below.

If you are ready to move forward with an application to join us at Elmhurst School, here is a step-by-step guide of our Application process.

  1. If you’re thinking about Elmhurst for your child, give our Admissions Manager a call on 020 8688 0661 to discuss your child’s needs further.
  2. We warmly encourage parents to visit Elmhurst to experience our exceptional environment first-hand. We run Open Days throughout the year and Stay and Play sessions for pre-schoolers every month. During your visit, you’ll receive a tour our facilities, meet our dedicated staff and see our students actively engaged in learning. This visit will showcase our commitment to academic excellence, personal development, and nurturing individual talents, helping you see why Elmhurst is the perfect choice for your child.
  3. Once you have decided that Elmhurst is the right school for your child, please complete the registration form below. There is a £100 Registration Fee. After registration, your child will be invited for a Taster Session which will give your child the opportunity to experience Elmhurst firsthand and allows them to join classes, meet future classmates and engage in our stimulating environment.

Consideration of an offer of a place

As a small caring school, we are able to offer most pupils a place to experience a wonderful journey through preparatory school. In considering applicants, we aim to ensure that any child offered a place at Elmhurst will be able to fit happily into the school and be able to benefit from and cope with the challenging, broad curriculum we provide. We always look beyond the current ability of the child and try to gauge their possible potential in our assessment process, which is conducted individually for all age groups.

Offers for places at the school are made following assessment. Those entering scholarship applications may be asked to take part in an additional assessment depending on the individual situation.

Accepting a place

Once a place has been offered, your child’s spot will be held for seven days. A deposit of £700 is then payable upon acceptance. This deposit will be returned when your child leaves Elmhurst in Year 6, subject to any outstanding amounts. It is non-refundable in the event if your child does not join the school.
