Year 3 visit Shoreham-by-Sea

Year 3 went to Shoreham -by- Sea to visit the RNLI lifeboat station, where they learned about the different boats used, tried on kit and found out how the boats were launched for rescue. After lunch, they went to visit Shoreham beach, where they collected some shells and seaweed for an Art lesson and discovered how tides work. This supports our work in Geography as well as our term’s topic ‘Illuminated Lives’ as the children have just finished learning about Grace Darling, the famous daughter of a lighthouse keeper.
