Pastoral Care

Building character and supporting well-being

We are committed to fostering a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported and equipped to thrive both personally and academically.

Pupil well-being encompasses the emotional, mental, physical and social aspects of school life. It is about helping pupils to feel good about themselves, building positive relationships, managing stress and approaching challenges with resilience. Our goal at Elmhurst is to support every child’s holistic development, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to succeed not just in school but in life.

Pastoral Care

We have a supportive pastoral approach in place at Elmhurst to ensure that every child feels cared for throughout their school journey and are able to build brilliant character as well as resilience.  Supporting self regulation, our pastoral team are compassionate professionals who are committed to the welfare of each child. They work closely with families to create a supportive and responsive environment.

A Shared Responsibility

We believe that pupil personal development and well-being is vital and is optimal when approaches involves pupils, staff, parents, and, where appropriate, the wider community. By working together, we can create a supportive network that empowers our pupils to grow character and, in time, enable pupils to lead fulfilling, balanced lives.
