Following our floating and sinking inquiry last week, the astronauts were given an exciting challenge: to save the aliens from Planet Aqua!
Their mission was to design a foil rocket pod and test how many marbles it could hold before sinking. They made predictions and, based on their observations and results, worked with their partners to suggest ways to improve their designs. Through their investigations they started to learn that whether something floats or sinks can depend on its shape and how heavy it is.
