There was a special kind of joy in the air when our youngest students came together for their annual Sports Day. You could feel the excitement and energy radiating from our Little Elms children up to our Year 2 class.
The first part of the morning was dedicated to team-based activities. The children were divided into their team houses and displayed impressive sportsmanship and enthusiasm. One of the most entertaining events was the ‘leaky bottle race’ where the little ones had to fill a bottle with water, despite it having a hole and then dash back to fill up a jug. Laughter echoed across the field as water splashed everywhere, but the determination of the children never wavered. Other activities included throwing the bean bag in the hoop, an obstacle race and scoring a goal in the net.
After a short break, it was time for the individual races. The children lined up, ready to run their fastest in their year groups. The sense of anticipation was palpable as Mr V shouted Go! Little legs pumped furiously as each child gave it their all, with the crowd of parents and teachers cheering them on.
From the determined strides of the Little Elms to the more confident sprints of the Year 2’s, every race was a celebration of effort and enthusiasm. The beaming smiles and high-fives at the finish line were a testament to their hard work and the joy of participation.
The children had an incredible time working together, cheering each other on and celebrating each other’s successes. They ended the day with delicious ice lollies before heading back to school.
