Elmhurst School for Boys is excited to announce that the Little Elms Pre-Reception Nursery class will be open all year round as of November 2021; now with the choice of morning and afternoon sessions as well as our usual term time only options, and 15 hours Early Years Funding.

In the Little Elms Pre-Reception Nursery class, the school day is structured in line with the rest of the school year groups, with a set weekly timetable (to include PE, Music, Forest School, ICT and French – all with specialist teachers) as well as Yoga and 1-to-1 focussed learning with Mrs King (our Pre-Reception Lead), Whole School Assemblies, a morning break, lunch time and afternoon break.
Set 1-to-1 focussed learning times allow staff to tailor each boy’s learning according to the development stage he is at when he joins us, and helps develop him to a stage where he is comfortable and confident enough to excel when he transitions to Reception and beyond.
There are also many opportunities for the Little Elms boys to collaborate with Reception throughout the week, enabling them to learn about life in Reception and build relationships with the Reception teaching staff, leading to a seamless transition when the time comes.
